Dylan Hawks cashed in on good behavior to shadow the principal for the day. He enjoyed visiting classrooms and recognizing the Rocket Way behaviors of others. Keep emphasizing Respect, Pride, and Integrity at home. More certificates are waiting to be earned!
Last week, Mrs. Birr and Miss Nauta’s classes extended their learning beyond the classroom during the Big Lesson at the Lakeshore Museum. Students learned about their community, explored Muskegon past and present, and shared new knowledge with parents and community members.

Kindergarten teachers, students, and parents gathered to clean-up the K playgrounds. What a transformation! It's incredible what can be accomplished in a short amount of time when we join hands in improving things for our kids. Thank you parent volunteers!

Mrs. Bos's 4th grade students have been studying how to translate themes of the natural life in still life arrangements with artist, Christy Dehoog-Johnson. They took their learning to the Muskegon Museum of Art and applied it to the Undying Traditions: Memento Mori exhibition.
The EL curriculum promotes social/emotional growth and habits of character. Here, kinders learn to be good speakers and listeners as they talk about their preferences.

Time to eat! Central students participated in the Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch, an initiative to promote healthy eating and farm to school purchasing in our region. At 3:15, roughly 470 Rockets took a collective crunch! Thanks SFE for your support in this effort.

Local writer and illustrator, Laurie Keller, made a surprise visit to Central today, sharing her work and passion for reading with many of our first and second grade students. Students learned how to draw the otter she created and used within Do Unto Otters.
