Kindergarten teachers, students, and parents gathered to clean-up the K playgrounds. What a transformation! It's incredible what can be accomplished in a short amount of time when we join hands in improving things for our kids. Thank you parent volunteers!

Mrs. Bos's 4th grade students have been studying how to translate themes of the natural life in still life arrangements with artist, Christy Dehoog-Johnson. They took their learning to the Muskegon Museum of Art and applied it to the Undying Traditions: Memento Mori exhibition.



The EL curriculum promotes social/emotional growth and habits of character. Here, kinders learn to be good speakers and listeners as they talk about their preferences.

Time to eat! Central students participated in the Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch, an initiative to promote healthy eating and farm to school purchasing in our region. At 3:15, roughly 470 Rockets took a collective crunch! Thanks SFE for your support in this effort.




Last Friday marked our first 2nd Grade Friday read aloud. We love our volunteers! Please contact your child's teacher if you are interested in serving as a guest reader, or partnering with Central in new ways to support learning.



Third graders cash in on good behavior at the Rocket Shop! We are consistently having to replenish our supply, which is exciting. Please contact the office if you are interested in donating to the Rocket Shop.


Local writer and illustrator, Laurie Keller, made a surprise visit to Central today, sharing her work and passion for reading with many of our first and second grade students. Students learned how to draw the otter she created and used within Do Unto Otters.

We are currently experiencing partial power outages at Central. Office phones are down. We have a plan in place for lunch. Most importantly, the kids are all safe and in their classrooms learning.
Students and staff pay homage to decades of the past on Throwback Tuesday!



Our curriculum promotes the habits of strong character. 4th grade students built towers using marshmallows and toothpicks. Students practiced teamwork, compromise, communication, and problem solving. The tallest free-standing tower was 7 1/4”!



Mindfulness helps our students remain aware of their thoughts and feelings so their minds can fully attend to what's happening in the learning environment. Kindergarteners use stuffed animals for conscious breathing!

What a Marvelous Monday to kick off spirit week! Looking forward to Throwback Tuesday!
