This week in sports
Students in Criminal justice worked hard to prepare opening/closing statements, witness questions, cross examinations, and more as lawyers and witnesses in a mock trial. The trial came to an end last week with the judge, jury, and bailiff coming to a decision on second degree murder and hazing of our defendant. The students blew it out of the water and did an AMAZING job. EVERY student got into their roles! It was awesome to see and so much fun.
Join for a week of FREE hands-on experience with machining and robotics at MCC’s Sturrus Technology Center in downtown Muskegon.
We begin at 8:00 a.m. each day, provide a free breakfast and lunch, and wrap up by 2:30 p.m.
We will meet with local employers looking to hire, allow you to explore a variety of careers in manufacturing and robotics, and provide hands-on experience in our applied technology labs.
Get your OSHA 10 Certification as well!
For more information visit www.mcc-upskill.org or call Shameika Johnson at 231.777.0375.
Any person who lives in Muskegon County and has a high school diploma or GED is likely eligible.
The learning that happens when you mix 5th and 6th grade students together with seniors to talk about future career options is pretty special.
RPI came with great questions and engagement.
RPHS 12th grade students did a great job or researching and presenting about future career options.
This little spot in Rocket City was bursting with energy, hope, vision, and drive yesterday.
Great job to all involved in the partnsership!
Yesterday, we had a great visit with Molly Kennedy, a nationally recognized speaker and author.
Molly spoke with our students about resilience and “flipping their 20”. Her message was clear that, no matter what someone is going through, you are never alone.
This opportunity was brought to us by Muskegon Rotary and the RPHS Interact club.
What a great opportunity to reflect!
Reeths-Puffer Schools will be closed Friday, November 18 due to weather conditions.
Senior Parents- FAFSA is complicated and we are here to help!
REMINDER- we will be holding another FAFSA night tonight at 7:00. The time has been pushed back from originally 6:00pm. Hopefully this gives everyone some time to support our Marching Band during their stadium echoes performance tonight as well.
You will need tax information and both student/parent social security numbers to accurately fill out the FAFSA. Please let me know if you are planning to attend and if you have any questions regarding the event or application process!
Put it on your calendars. Light show on December 17th. Support our students and support the Muskegon Rescue Mission.
While the pandemic made connection more challenging, the light show started to bring people together. It is now a Rocket City tradition.
In World History, our students are applying their learning to create escape room clues. Beyond the content, students are also practicing skills to be better collaborators, communicators, problem solvers, and critical thinkers. Their creativity is quite amazing.
So many great theater opportunities to experience Alice In Wonderland!
The Leadership class would love your help. Students serving students makes RPHS a great place!
Just us on Saturday, October 29th and the White Lake Playhouse for a fun filled and informative event.
Shout out to our incredible volleyball game day support crew. Ava Klopp, Ava Mavis, and Grace Seiber. These ladies are awesome and always bring the positive energy.
We are excited to host exchange students this year from Germany, Spain, Australia, Brazil, Poland, Thailand, Denmark, and Italy. The learn about Rocket City, USA and we also get to learn from them!
Our leadership class hosted a breakfast to welcome them to RPHS.
Always fun collecting trophies! Great work freshman volleyball, the Rockets won the Fruitport invitational.
We are excited to give a special shout out to one of our amazing students! Aaron had the opportunity to put his art skills and creativity on display by painting a car for Art Prize. This project pulled together two of Aaron's loves; cars and creativity. Feel free to vote for Aaron (Garden Of Love):

Congratulations to Bruce Latsch as our first ever Pilot of the Pit. This honor is for a student that demonstrates the Rocket Way as a spectator at RP events.
Our student leadership group describes that "Bruce brought the spirit and energy to every football game so far this year. He shows up each game, dressed to impress with the theme of the week. You can probably see Bruce running back and forth in front of the student section, giving high fives and starting “the wave”. Keep an eye out for our first ever Pilot in The Pit this week and try to match his energy!"
Bruce received the honor of the astronaut helmet and certificate this week which will get handed off to a new student next week for showing school spirit with respect, pride, and integrity.
Pilot of the Pit was an idea created by students and executed by students. We can't wait to see their idea "take off". Our students make Rocket City a pretty special place to be!
Congrats again Bruce.
Join us for Senior Parent Night and learn more about college/post- secondary preparation.
