Books are meant to be in the hands of our students! The process just needs to look a little bit different this year. Students can check out books electronically and request books. The title is then pulled and left for a student to pick up from the library. Our students should all have a list of books that they would like to read. Also, the books are isolated for a period of time before they can return to circulation.

Great teachers really are "lead learners" and we had the opportunity on our half day today to grow and learn from each other as professionals. Here are some of the takeaways... 1. It has been a great start. We feel like we know our students well already. 2. We care about the social growth of your student and their well-being and we can plan for that within our building. 3. We love seeing engagement with our content as students learn, collaborate, and think critically. We can plan for engagement. 4. We know we will need to continue to teach behaviors, especially regarding safety and we can plan for that. Our time together is always valuable as we plan to serve our students best. Go Rockets!

Don’t forget tomorrow is a half-day. Our day starts at 7:55 and ends at 10:55. On half days, we are able to send students with just breakfast at the end of the day.

Tinfoil has so many more uses than the leftovers. Our theater students used tinfoil as a method of communication today. It is awesome to see the relationships forming.

We are asking ALL Reeths-Puffer families to complete our lunch application at https://www.lunchapp.com/. It may not seem relevant, but significant district funding is tied to this. Please help by completing your application now! **Thank you**

At this time, we are happy to provide lunch and breakfast to any student FREE of charge! Students can grab the breakfast and lunch to go from our commons at the middle school. Another option is that we also have 5 day's worth of breakfast and lunches that will normally be available to students to be picked up each Monday at the high school from 2-3. With the weird holiday week, we want to offer a second time Thursday 9/10 (TOMORROW) from 2-3 pm at the Giles rd parking lot at the High School. This is available to virtual students, face to face that would rather pick up at one time, or to anyone under the age of 18 in our community. Go Rockets!

We love the first day of school and with the soft start we got to do it twice. Last names L-Z did amazing and it has been a great day. The 20-21 school year is full of unprecedented challenges AND unprecedented opportunity. We are appreciative that our students are flexible with the new normal.

Face To Face Schedule are open in Powerschool! Also, please check your e-mail for some answers to common scheduling questions. Mrs. Mitchelson (mitchelj@reeths-puffer.org) can answer specific questions or address errors. We honored elective selections to build our schedule and can't make changes at this time. There were many puzzle pieces to put together with many new obstacles this year so some things look a little different. Often one of the first things that happens when students and parents see their schedule is to post to social media and start discussing courses and staff. Please remember that each student's experience in a class in unique (successes and challenges), each student has different learning preferences, and one of the best gifts we can give our students is an open mind. We are all working hard to make this the best year ever. If you selected Rocket Virtual there is an orientation on September 3rd from 4-4:45 (https://edmentum.zoom.us/j/95103134483) You and your student will receive an e-mail tomorrow outlining what to expect on the first day, but the most important point we want to convey is not in the details. We want you to know we are here to help and have carefully designed our first days together. We want you to know that we care about your students, we know there are first day nerves (we have them too), we know they didn’t get a tour like normal, we know masks are weird, and WE ARE GOING TO BE HERE TO HELP.
