Congratulations to Paige Anderson! Today, Paige qualified for the division 2 golf state championships. Paige did so shooting an 88 on our home course, Lincoln Golf Club. Paige will compete October 15-16 at Bedford Valley in Battle Creek. Paige we are proud of you!
Rocket Dawg of the Week week #6 is junior cheerleader Addison Smith
Addison is the epitome of a hard worker. She never complains, and always gives 110%. Addison puts in time outside of practice to improve her skills and she has grown in confidence as well as strength. I can always depend on Addison to be at every practice, on time, working hard, and leading those around her. Addison is a phenomenal backspot, a beautiful tumbler, and has so much flexibility and control to her jumps and motions. Best of all, Addison is kind and helpful to every teammate and encourages everyone to be their best. We are lucky to have Addie!!

This week in sports 10-4-21
The men’s Cross Country team took 2nd today while racing against the entire ok green conference . Zeeland West beat RP by one point. Placing in the top 15 were Klay Grant, Jaxson Allen, Kye Grant, and Tate Bradley.

Jaxon Allen, RP Sophomore, developing leader, coachable athlete, gritty worker, considerate teammate, and completely committed. Those are all qualities of Jaxon that make him worthy of being the Rocket Dawg.
Watching him grow as a coachable runner and execute racing tactics like tangents, pace, surges, positivity, and strong self talk has made RP XC better.
This season Jaxon has naturally stepped up as a developing leader when a senior leader has been away for various reasons. This can be seen by getting practice going or being a considerate teammate by asking others to lead so our team is also developing.
Jaxon’s gritty work ethic is seen when he consistently chooses to run more miles or run more reps of speed work so that he is the best he can be for the team.
Jaxon’s increased commitment this summer to practice and this season has lead him to being the 5th fastest sophomore in RP history with a time of 16:45. No one would be surprised if he moves up to #2, behind teammate Klay Grant’s 15:54.
Shout out to our amazing maintenance crew! The campus and field look amazing today! Go Rockets!!!!

Congratulations Paige Anderson! Paige is the Rocket Dawg of the Week #4. Paige was nominated by Coach Carter. Coach had the following to say about Paige. “Paige is a great teammate. She is always upbeat and willing to help anyone at anytime. She leads by example, putting in the extra work on her game. Paige wants to be the best every time she plays. Paige has finished in the top ten in all events she has played in this year except for one. Paige is currently ranked 2nd in the conference and most recently took 3rd place in the Montague invite, this tournament hosted over 100 golfers and several teams ranked in the state. Paige also finished 4th place in the GMAA county golf invitational with a score of 85.”
