What an incredible group of young women, coaches , and support group! Great work today Rockets, STRONG 2nd place finish in the OK Green Jamboree tonight. Big things coming this post season.

Congratulations to our Rocket Dawg of the Week, Lilly Schoonbeck, Lilly's grit and determination make here such an incredible leader. Coach Lis Smith had the following to say:
Lilly had a catastrophic injury at Regionals during the 2021 schoolyear, tearing her ACL, resulting in extensive surgery and months of intense physical therapy. Having been a cheerleader since grade school, with colleges showing interest before the injury, this couldn't have been a more devastating blow both mentally and physically. Doctors told Lilly it wasn't likely that she would be able to come back to performing at the same level she'd been at, if at all. However, if there is one person to defy the odds and create her own success story, it is Lilly. While Lilly was healing and getting therapy, she attended every camp during the summer as an 'assistant coach' and insisted on being involved with the team every step of the way, even though she could not physically do the work. She helped critique and polish her teammates, watching them perform and work, all while anxiously awaiting the go ahead from her doctors and each day finding the positive in her journey. It has truly been inspiring. Finally, after 11 months of grueling work, patience, and dedication, she is back on the floor fighting to be in all rounds. I'm incredibly proud of her and honored to have had the opportunity to coach her through this memorable time in her life.
