Rockets win! 8-6 over Mona Shores.

Emma Martin signed her letter of intent with Calvin today. Her soccer talents are incredible but a distant second to her smile and positive impact she has on team culture. Go Emma and go Rockets 🚀

The Rockets finished runner up in the GMAA golf today. Leaders for the Rockets were Tyler Tallefson 3rd 🥉 with a round of 76 and Chase Baustert broke into the top ten, finishing 8th with a score of 84. Great work Rockets 🚀

Great night for the lady Rockets in soccer. We defeated Union 5-2. Emma Martin scored a goal on the night and Sophia Hekkema had a heck of a night 4 goals and an assistant. The girls are hitting their stride! ⚽️🚀

*****
Lacrosse and Soccer are on as planned.

Varsity Tennis scheduled at Whitehall today, 5/3/22 has been postponed and will be moved to 5/18/22.

Unfortunately, the umpire shortage has hit our baseball and softball programs. Tomorrow's JV double headers, both baseball and softball do not have umpires. Our goal is to reschedule these contests for Wednesday, 5/4/22 start times would still be 4:15.

And that is a wrap! 3-1 weather shortened the game but the Rockets sweep North Muskegon.

Update at North Muskegon- Billie Tryska nets a goal 40 seconds into the second half 3-1 Rockets 🚀

Update from North Muskegon.
JV with a 5-0 win and varsity up 2-1, goals from Hekkema and Martin!

Fun honoring Noah Vos today as he signed his NLI to play Lacrosse at Western Michigan University. Awesome young man with a bright future.

This week in sports.
Go Rockets!!!

Rocket Dawg of the week! Jordan Bochenek, as shared by Coach Attig.
Jordan Bochenek continues to do whatever is needed. On Tuesday he started at designated hitter, then pitched then played 2B, right field, then…. “oh ya, hey I need you to catch now.’ Jordan just nods his head and goes where he can help the team win. He gives this team max effort, game in and game out, no matter where he plays. I could throw stats out but this goes beyond stats it is truly about the team and accomplishing the team goals that we set at the beginning of the season. Without Jordan being so willing to fill the role of utility player and willing to hit 2nd, 7th or 9th we, as a team would struggle to fill those gaps. This senior class, which includes Jordan has established the bar for this baseball program moving forward. Their work ethic and willingness to be selfless for the team is a standard that they have set for years to come. Jordan is that selfless team first player and it shows game in and game out. I appreciate him more than he knows. he is the epitome of the "Rocket Dawg"!
Thanks Jordan, thanks for the kind words, and thank you to our boosters club for the awesome shirts.
