This week in sports go Rockets 🚀

Stephen Salazar Rocket Dawg of the week was nominated by Coach Kemp, according to Coach “
“Stephen Salazar embodies the "team first" mentality for Rocket Football. He has done an incredible job all summer and throughout the first two weeks of the season embracing the role of toughness. Despite not being in the starting rotation on either side of the ball, Stephen is the first one to volunteer for the scout team in order to give both sides of the ball realistic looks. He has fully gleaned the chop wood carry water initiative by buying into the ideals of the program and leading through example. Stephen is not worried about "getting what is his;" his only concern is that the team is prepared for the Friday night lights. He truly plays one of the most crucial roles that any great teammate must endure if the team is to improve, and he accomplishes this week in and week out in a dedicated and unselfish manner. If anyone walking the halls of Reeths-Puffer deserves this honor, it is the hard working, competitive and gritty Stephen Salazar.”

Update from St. John’s

This week in sports

Congratulations to Ethan Frang, Rocket Dawg of the for week one.
According to head tennis coach Ryan Hankinson, “Ethan is a freshman who has shined with GRIT, a positive attitude, and openness to learn.
He is likely one of our 3 best pure doubles players already but really desired to play singles and knocked off player after player to seize 4 singles.
In competition he has compiled the best overall record of any tennis player currently at 5-2 overall.
He won his flight at fruitport Invite winning a gold medal. He placed 2nd at the tough Ludington Invite.
Most impressive of all is that he is working so hard individually both on physical and mental aspects of tennis.
He is an ideal 🚀 🐶! Wish I had more players like him in the program; but he raises the bar competitively for everyone.
Just a proven winner!!!!!”
