For our F2F (Face-to-Face) students coming onto campus next week.  Here are some frequently asked questions (FAQ)


What’s the plan for a “Soft-Start”?

Students with last names beginning with A-K will come to school on Tuesday, Sept. 8th and Thursday, Sept. 10th.   Students with last names beginning with L-Z on Wednesday, Sept. 9th and Friday, Sept. 11th. 

Will school pictures including my school ID be taken this fall?

Yes! We will communicate this date ahead of time to allow photo package information to be available to all families. 

What is the difference between Rocket Virtual (RV) & Rocket Face-to-Face (F2F)?

Rocket Virtual (RV) students will enroll in online courses taught by a certified Michigan teacher.  Their course options are presented in Edmentum’s course catalog.  Rocket Face-to-Face (F2F) students will be taught by Reeths-Puffer teachers for the courses they previously selected during our scheduling process last spring.

Are any F2F courses starting virtually?

Until we enter phase 5, all physical education classes for F2F students will be virtual.

When will our schedules be available?   

Our goal is to have all student schedules prepared to be distributed by September 2nd.

What is the first day of school?

Tuesday, September 8th for students with last names starting with A-K.

Wednesday, September 9th for students with last names starting with L-Z.

When will students be able to enter the high school in the morning?

7:40 a.m.

When does the school day end?

All students will vacate the building by 1:35 p.m. daily for our deep cleaning process to begin.  Exceptions may be made for student organizations that have approved meetings scheduled.

How will breakfast and lunch be served?

Students will be provided the opportunity to grab a school breakfast and lunch as they leave at the end of the shortened day. There will be no breakfast or lunch served during the school day.

Are parking permits available?

Yes.  All students that would like to park their car on campus will need to purchase a parking permit.  The cost of on-campus parking stickers is $20.00.  Click on this LINK to purchase your parking permit. Once purchased, Mrs. Posner will follow up with an email regarding details about the vehicle that you plan to drive and park at school. Parking permits will be delivered to you the first week of school.

Is there a specific lot that student drivers are to park?

Yes!  CTC students will receive a special parking sticker to park in Roberts Rd. parking lot.  All other student drivers will park in the Giles Rd. parking lot.  Students must have a parking sticker by Monday, September 15th.  

What does the schedule look like this year?

Will there be a different flow for hallway & stair traffic?   

Hallways will have two-way traffic with monitors to support social distancing.  The stairwells located at the end of the 100 and 200 hallways 

Will there still be clubs & organizations?

It is important to us that students are provided with opportunities to engage in extracurricular activities.  Advisors for our clubs & organizations will seek approval from administration to schedule non-virtual meetings on campus.

If I choose (F2F) and we have to go to a virtual setting, what would my daily schedule look like?

Are building tours available?

We will be providing a video tour of the building. We are strategically planning to support students on the first day of school to help them become familiar with our building

When are exams?

There will be no exams as part of a student’s final grade.  Final grades will be based on the assignments, projects and assessments provided by teachers.

Will masks be available if mine breaks? 

Yes

Will there be times when teachers and/or students can take the masks off?

During an in-class snack-break, students may take their masks off to eat.  Students are not allowed to take their masks off while in the building other than when given the opportunity in class during a snack break.  

What’s the plan for hallway traffic?

Just like our road system:  Keep to the right!  The staircases at the end of the 100 and 200 hallways are UPSTAIRS ONLY DURING PASSING TIMES.  The main staircase by the office elevator is DOWNSTAIRS ONLY DURING PASSING TIMES.  During class, staircases may be used for up or down stairs use.

If we are F2F, how do we attend a virtual physical education class?

Your F2F teacher will share information on assigned workouts in an on-demand format.

Are we able to eat & hang out in the cafeteria before school starts?

As long as social distancing is adhered to.

Will lockers be assigned?

No.  Lockers will not be assigned for the 2020-21 school year.

Will backpacks of our choosing be allowed during the school day?

Yes.  One single backpack will be allowed for all students.

Will the cell phone policy be different this year?

Cell phones will remain in student backpacks during instructional time.  We will not use cell phone pouches during the 2020-21 school year.
