Forest Hills Northen continues to be a frustrating opponent for the Reeths-Puffer boys soccer team.

Last year the Rockets’ impressive postseason tournament run ended with a loss in regionals to FHN.

The Rockets had a similar misfortune on Friday night, dropping a 6-1 decision on the road to the Huskies.

Aiden McCollum, who scored R-P's lone goal.

The game was actually much closer than the final score indicated. Forest Hills Northen only led 2-1 late in the second half, but then pulled away with four goals in the final 15 minutes.

Aiden McCollum scored the lone goal for the Rockets, with an assist from Liam Smith.

“We had great opportunities and battled well,” said R-P Coach Kody Harrell. “I was very pleased with what I saw from the boys. We just lost the mental battle in the last 15 minutes of the game. We will learn and grow.”

The Rockets will host their first home game of the season on Monday against Hudsonville.
