Sometimes it is better to "win ugly" than to "lose pretty". Last night was one of those nights for the 8th Grade Rockets. The team shot a season high 82 shots but also shot a season low 16% from the field. The cold shooting night enabled a game and scrappy Mona Shores team to hang around and eventually take the lead 33 to 32 with less than 20 seconds left in the game. The team ran a special play that they have been working on  in practice to get an open shot. Unfortunately the shot by Grace Tindall was off the mark. Not quitting on the play Gracie Callender hustled to keep the ball in play before it went out of bounds. The team then moved the ball to Grace Tindall who sank a 3 pointer at the buzzer to send the RP crowd into a frenzy and the  team to their 3rd victory of the season.  The final score was Reeths-Puffer 35 and Mona Shores 33. The team will play at home on Wednesday versus Grand Haven. Leading scorers were: Grace Klimsza (1 point), Ella Voorhies (4 points), Wren Tryska (5 points), Bri Do (6 points), Grace Tindall (9 points including the game winning shot) and Ash David (10 points).
