In 8th grade action last night the Lady Rockets traveled across town to face the Little Reds of Muskegon. The game was a tale of 2 halves. In the first half the Rockets took care of Muskegon's half court trap and made some easy buckets.  Ash David had a big first half with 8 points and Wren Tyrska did a great job coming off the bench to spark the Rockets with 5 first half points.  The Rockets lead at half 21 to 11. Unfortunately,  Muskegon turned up the pressure in the 2nd half with a full court man to man press. The Rockets struggled against the pressure and rushed shots when they did break the pressure. The team got a lone bucket by Bri Do in the 3rd quarter.  Muskegon took the lead in the 4th quarter but with just over a minute to go the Rockets battled back to cut the lead to a one possession game. Unfortunately, they could not get any closer and lost their first game of the season 31 to 35. The team will bounce back with an away game against West Ottawa on Wednesday. Leading scorers were: Bri Do (2 points), Ella Voorhies (2 points),  Gracie Callender (2 points), Grace Tindall (2 Points), Jaz Kops (5 points), Wren Tryska (6 points) and Ash David (team high 12 points)
