Tonight’s MVP goes to the med bag! Coach Pallett was too busy being a doctor to be a photographer.
Thirty years of coaching basketball, hundreds of games, and I can’t recall ever having a game where every healthy player in the line-up recorded at least one free-throw attempt. It happened last night against the Little Reds of Muskegon, though. Unfortunately, things were made difficult by only making 18 of 52. Bruised, bloodied and iced, the Rockets overcame missed opportunities to take one in Muskegon. The high scoring win was made possible by a group effort. Eight of the nine healthy Rockets scored with Jaslynn Kops leading the way with fifteen to go with six steals. Ashlyn David was unstoppable down low with thirteen points and a whopping fifteen rebounds and three steals. A double-double extraordinaire! Charitee Jones came up huge with two points, six rebounds and five steals. Bri Do, Ella Voorhies, Madison Reichert, Makenzie Jacobs and Olivia Ambler all tightened down on the wings while chipping in timely points. Gracie Callendar was a hustle defender down low while Wren Tryska did everything for the Rockets as she played her heart out at every position on the court to cover up the mounting injuries. Be kind to the team today as they will be a little sore.
