As Bri Do looks to attack the basket, she spots a wide open basket cut.
The 7th grade Lady Rockets mounted another thrilling comeback against Jenison in a total team effort that created the best execution of the season. After falling behind 20-11, a strong defensive effort led by the seven steals of Grace Tindall and three by Jaslyn Kops clawed the Rockets back into contention. High wing pressure by Ella Voorhies, Bri Do and Madison Reichert created another six turnovers. Solid boxing out by the entire squad resulted in eight rebounds for Ashlyn David and four apiece by Gracie Callendar and Charitee Jones. Leading the offensive comeback was Wren Tryska who hit a first half buzzer beating three-pointer that gave RP the momentum they would need in the second half. Tryska led the team with seven points while Tindall and Jones followed with six and four. The biggest bucket of the night came from Braylee Trepanier’s lay-in off of a perfectly executed set with 8.4 seconds left to give the ladies a two-point edge that they would not relinquish.
