Boxing out was the key for the Rockets against Hamilton.
The 7th grade Lady Rockets had to “rise up” after falling behind 20-10 early in the second half. Fortunately, this group is “young scrappy and hungry” and stuck together down the home stretch to overcome a very good Hamilton team in overtime. They “surrounded them” in the paint “and cut them off at” the sideline. Ashlyn David, Charitee Jones, Gracie Callendar, and Grace Tindall led a balanced scoring attack with five points apiece with Jaslynn Kops, Ella Voorhies, and Olivia Ambler getting in on the action as well. For those who doubted the rebounding ability of the girls, “don’t say a thing, history will prove them wrong.” Braylee Trepanier and David stepped up with a combined ten rebounds to lead the way, and “to remind them of [our] love” of defense, David also snagged five steals from Hamilton. It was an amazing team effort to topple Hamilton. Rockets, “we get the job done.”
