The tough schedule continued for the 8th Grade lady Rockets as they took on a tall and talented Mona Shores team last night. The lady Rockets showed a lot of grit and battled Mona Shores in the first half. Early in the 2nd quarter it was a 12 to 8 game. The Sailors then went on a 9 to 0 run to end the half leading 21 to 8. The Rockets battled the Sailors tough and pretty even for much of the 3rd quarter. The 4th quarter the score got a little out of hand and Mona Shores ended up winning by a score of 48 - 19. Although it was another tough night shooting for the Rockets the team played with a lot of effort. The girls set a single game record for taking charges. Mallorie Messer had 3 and Carlee Bowen had 1. Coach Pallett will have to make a special run to buy Gatorades for all the charges. The team will play away tomorrow at Grand Haven and then they have a game away versus East Kentwood on Thursday. Leading scorers for the Rockets were: Mallorie Messer with 2 points. Jayla Trepanier with 2 points. Emma Lamphere with 6 points. Sara Carlson was the leading scorer with 9 points.
