The 7th grade Rockets traveled a short distance to square off against their cross-town rivals at Mona Shores. The Sailors hung around with good shooting in the first half, but the Rockets took off in the second as Grace Tindall led all scorers with fifteen points. Jaslynn Kops punched in six while Gracie Callendar and Makenzie Jacobs dropped in four apiece. A persistent defense in the second half was spearheaded by the hard work of Olivia Ambler and Bri Do who each had three steals; however, the game was turned by the down low presence of Charitee Jones who mixed it up with the giants in the paint. Jones’s help defense and five rebounds were a huge part of holding Shores to two points in the second half. Practice tonight is from 6:30-8:00.
