A big bucket in the 4th quarter closed the gap for the Rockets
On an evening where neither team could get any offensive momentum, the 7th grade Rockets turned to defense in order to topple the visiting Panthers from West Ottawa. Tough rebounding from Charitee Jones, Ashlyn David and Gracie Callendar helped turn the tide late in the game for RP. Timely defensive pressure from Ella Voorhies was also crucial to their success as she made a few excellent stops late in the contest. Add in a couple of huge three-pointers from Madison Reichert and Jaslynn Kops and the team was on their way to a successful home stand. Again, they proved to be a better team as they unselfishly distributed the ball. Despite only scoring 23 points against a very good West Ottawa group, eight girls got into the scoring column for the second straight game. Tomorrow they travel to Jenison for a make-up game.
