Track and Field

The girls and guys track teams competed against a very strong Grand Haven team last night. Although the Rockets did not come away with the win, they are steadily improving each week and had a lot of personal records again this meet. First place finishers for the Rockets were: Savannah Lockwood in the 200 meter dash, Adrienne Fluette with her personal record in the 400 meter dash, Jersi Bilek in the 800 meter run, Mya Swain with her personal record in the shot put, Owen Ritsema with his personal record in the 100 meter dash, Sam Hillin with his personal record in the shot put, and the 400 meter relay team of Shaun Haley, Sam Hillin, Evan Buckhalter, and Elliot Schneider. Second place finishers for the Rockets were: Marvin Moore in the 200 meter dash, Elliot Schneider with a personal and school record in the high jump, Evan Buckhalter with his personal record in the long jump, Jersi Bilek with her personal record in the 1600 meter run, Ashley Bradley in the 55 meter hurdles, and Adrienne Fluette in the long jump. Third place finishers for the Rockets were: Lainey McDaniel in the 100 meter dash, Jersi Bilek with a personal record in the 200 meter dash, Ashley Bradley with her personal record in the 200 meter hurdles, Owen Ritsema in the 70 meter dash, Corey Judd in the 200 meter dash, Carson McCollum with a personal record In the 400 meter dash and 800 meter run, Trenton Corley in the 55 meter hurdles, Garrett Olejarczyk with his personal record in the shot put, and Marvin Moore in the high jump. Other personal records set were Kaden VanderLaan and Hudson Roberts in the 1600 meter run, DaHoni Welsch and Ashley Bradley in the 70 meter dash, Addyson Smith in the 400 meter dash, Amia Mackay in the 1600 meter run, Mallorie Messer in the 55 meter hurdles, Maddy Ingersoll in the shot put, Addyson Smith, Addison Eek, and Gabby Borgeson in the high jump, and Azlynn Gordon in the long jump. A very big congratulations goes out to Elliot Schneider for breaking the RP middle school boys high jump record with a jump of 5 feet 7 inches! Great job Elliot and great job Rockets
