RP drops a close meet to Holland Middle School

The Rocket Guys track team was in action again last night as they battled Holland. The meet ended in a 64-64 tie. First place finishers for the Rocket Guys were: Elliot Schneider in the 1600 meter run and high jump, Kye Grant in the 800 and 400 meter runs,  Sam Hillin in the shot put, Evan Buckhalter in the long jump, the 800 meter relay team of Sam Hillin, Cal Millis, Corey Judd, and Shaun Haley, and the 1600 meter relay team of Elliot Schneider, Marvin Moore, Shaun Haley, and Kye Grant. Second place finishers for the Rocket Guys were: Cal Millis in the 55 meter hurdles, Dain Miller in the 70 meter dash, Carson McCollum in 800 meter run, Marvin Moore in the 200 meter dash, Kaden VanderLaan in the 3200 meter run, and Shaun Haley and Marvin Moore tied for second in the high jump. Third place finishers for the Rocket Guys were: Trenton Corley in the 55 meter hurdles, Dain Miller in the 100 meter dash, Kaden VanderLaan in the 200 meter hurdles, Hudson Roberts in the 3200 meter run, and Trenton Corley in the shot put. Great job guys!

 

The Rocket Girls also battled Holland last night but came up just short. It came down to the final event. The Rocket Girls fell short by a score of 60-67. First place finishers for the Rocket Girls were: Lainey McDaniel in the 100 meter dash, Adrienne Fluette in the 400 meter dash and long jump, Savannah Lockwood in the 200 meter dash, Mya Swain in the shot put, the 800 meter relay team of Savannah Lockwood, Kiera Ketner, Chloe Brainard, and Ella Siembida, and the 400 meter relay team of Maddilynn Smith, Savannah Lockwood, Gabby Borgeson, and Addy Smith. Second place finishers for the Rocket Girls were: Jenna Terpstra in the 55 meter hurdles, Mallorie Messer in the 100 meter dash, Jersi Bilek in the 1600 meter run and 800 meter run, Lainey McDaniel in the 70 meter dash, Adrienne Fluette in the 200 meter hurdles, and Addy Smith in the high jump. Third place finishers for the Rocket Girls were: Mallorie Messer in the 55 meter hurdles, Maya VandenBosch in the 1600 meter run, Ellery Berndt in the 800 meter run, and Kiera Ketner in the 200 meter dash.
