Mya Swain for 2

8th Grade Lady Rockets hold off Zeeland Cityside

In 1983 it was the Star War's classic "The Return of the Jedi". In 1996 it was "Return of the Mack" a song by Mark Morrison. Last night in the Middle School gym it was "The Return of Mya Swain".  Mya had her most aggressive game of the season and lead the team in rebounds and points.  As a team, the Rockets came out slow and fell behind by 9 early on. Great defense and timely baskets propelled the Rockets to a 4 point lead at half. The Rockets built their lead to 11 in the 3rd quarter only to see Zeeland make a furious comeback. Late in the game with the Rockets up one the team called their play "Motion for a layup" and that is exactly what they did. Kiera Ketner slashed to the basket and found Mya Swain for a wide open layup to seal the thrilling victory for the Rockets 34-31.  The ladies will end their season on Thursday as they play host to East Kentwood. Leading scorers:  Maddy Ingersoll -2 points, Jenna Terpstra - 4 points, Kyleigh Bilek - 4 points, Maddilynn Dyer - 6 points, Savanna Lockwood - 6 points, Mya Swain  - 12 points.
