Mallorie Messer Scores Two on the Fast-break for the Rockets

Positive Attitudes Prevail Even When the Score Does Not Cooperate

The 7th grade Rockets kept amazing poise under pressure as they dropped a tough one to the individual effort of the Muskegon Big Reds. The girls learned that sometimes the better team doesn’t always win as they couldn’t find the bottom of the bucket in their home match-up with the rivals to the south. Despite the set-back they are learning that they have the ability to run their offense and find some open looks through execution and teamwork. Finding the basket from long range was the sharpshooter Sara Carlson with a couple of big threes. Mallorie Messer and Maya VandenBosch took their game to close range with a pair of lay-ups. Amani Starr and Keeley Cole were tough on the boards with some aggressive play underneath while Hope Latsch led the team in steals with her patented backcourt pressure. After a pair of practices, the Rockets look to bounce back on the road at Holland Christian Monday.
