7th Grade Rockets Improve on the Road but Can’t Escape with the Win

A solid team effort kept the Rockets within striking distance all night; however, in the end, Grand Haven simply had too much offense in the tank and was able to score just enough against a stingy defense. Superb help side defense stymied Grand Haven’s five-out basket cuts. Maya VandenBosch and Hope Latsch played beautiful on the midline as Amani Starr and Mallorie Messer swarmed the perimeter with seven steals. Emma Lamphere and Latsch controlled the boards with seven apiece. Leading the way offensively were Messer, Lamphere, Starr and Jersi Bilek. A tough task awaits the Rockets as they host Muskegon on Wednesday.
