7th Grade Rockets D-up Against West Ottawa

The 7th Graders Continue to Impress

RP’s 7th grade squad continues to show amazing improvements in such a short amount of time; unfortunately, it doesn’t always show on the scoreboard. In their best execution of the season, they fell to the visitors from West Ottawa in double overtime. Sara Carlson had the hot hand with a couple of game-changing three-pointers as she finished with a team high ten points and four steals. Emma Lamphere was close behind with nine of her own including a huge seal on “X” to send the game into the first overtime. Mallorie Messer also got into the balanced scoring act with a very aggressive eight points and three steals. Hope Latsch continues to impress with her defensive intensity with her three steals and six rebounds while Jersi Bilek was not to be outdone with two steals and five boards. Maya VandenBosch accomplished her role as well; known as the team’s best fundamental rebounder, she nabbed a team high seven against the Panthers. A late Tuesday practice will hopefully gear up the Rockets for a rivalry game against Shores on Wednesday.
