First Game Nerves Doom the Rockets
Tough play by the host Grand Haven Bucs downed the 7th grade Rockets comeback bid. RP struggled on offense as they try to get used to the faster pace of MKO Basketball. The defense, led by Hope Latsch’s four steals and Sara Carlson’s three steals, kept the Rockets in the game along with the tough rebounding of Mallorie Messer and Emma Lamphere. Unfortunately, 7 for 38 shooting stalled the victory parade. Jersi Bilek led all Rocket scorers with five points while Messer, Lamphere, and Maya VandenBosch each chipped in four apiece for the balanced scoring attack. Amani Starr and Latsch each had big buckets as well. It is a quick turnaround for the Rockets as they play back-to-back road games with the hope of working on spacing. Wish them luck against Holland today!
