The 7th grade Rockets got off the bus and scored the first twelve points of the game and didn’t look back from there. They raced out into the early lead, but the host Bucs didn’t go quietly. They rebounded well and played solid defense to stay in the game; however, in the end, there was just too much of a team effort to pull in a win for Addison Whitaker’s birthday. Raquel Walker led all scorers with 23 points to go with six rebounds and six steals. Addison Mitchelson pulled in five boards and had a couple of steals to go with her six points. Kayleigh Brown and Aiva Kass also put together a nice offensive game to help the Rockets in the scoring column. Lauren Slater and Whitaker turned up the defense in the second half to keep the squad in a comfortable lead. With one practice remaining, the girls will hope to clean up a few things in order to play their best game of the season on Wednesday against East Kentwood.
