R-P hockey players

The red-hot Reeths-Puffer hockey team displayed its offensive depth on Friday night when nine different players scored in a 9-1 conference victory over East Kentwood.

The Rockets have now won seven straight games and 11 of their last 12. They are 17-5 overall and 6-2 in the O-K Conference Fischer Division, good for first place with only two conference games remaining.

Tyler Tindall and Croix Klint scored in the first period for Reeths-Puffer.

Jaxon Stone, Skylor Sutton, Ricky Wiggins and Avery Freeland scored in the second period, giving the Rockets a 6-1 lead.

Isaiah Winters (12), who was one of nine Rockets to score in the win.

Isaiah Winters, Eli Cuti and Kaeden Benner found the net for R-P in the third period, ending the game early on the mercy rule. The final period lasted less than five minutes.

Goalie Isaiah Van Noord got the victory for the Rockets, stopping 9 of 10 shots.

"It was exciting to see our scoring depth show tonight,” said Reeths-Puffer Coach Ryan Martin. “To see some of the guys who are young or typically more defensive-minded scoring goals really energizes the boys, and they get excited for one another.“

The Rockets will go on the road again on Saturday to play Jenison in a non-conference matchup before hosting a rematch with East Kentwood on Wednesday in another important conference game.
