The Reeths-Puffer competitive cheer team took first place on Saturday in both the Division 2 -3 pool and the overall standings at the Kenowa Hills Invitational

The Rockets were strong in all three rounds, posting a score of 217.6 in the first round  (execution), 199.68 in the second (overall skills) and 272.6 in the third (stunts). Their total score was 689.88.

“The first round was strong and laid the foundation for our successful sweep,” said R-P assistant coach Emily Bouchard. “The second round was our best this season and laid the foundation for a successful sweep. Our third round was energy-filled and ultimately locked in the win for the team.

“We are coming out strong and powerful, yet we have lots of powerful room for growth. Our girls are committed every day to the ‘champion mindset.’”

The Rocket squad will compete on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the first O-K Green tournament of the season at Muskegon High School.
