R-P bowler

The last few days have been pretty good for the Reeths-Puffer girls bowling team.

On Saturday two Rockets – Brenna Ackerman and Bianca Kammers – finished in the top 10 individually at the Fruitport Invitational at Northway Lanes.

On Monday the Rockets had a strong outing as a team, defeating Allendale 29-1 at Northway Lanes.

R-P's Brenna Ackerman

Ackerman finished fifth overall on Saturday with a 114-141-169-474 series. Kammers was sixth with a 172-147-147-466 series. Both won medals for their strong finishes at the Fruitport Invitational.

In team competition on Monday, the Rockets kept things rolling with a big win over Allendale.

R-P won 9 of 10 regular games in head-to-head matchups with Allendale opponents, and easily won both baker game rounds, 109-96 and 133-71.

R-P's Bianca Kammers

Ackerman was the top R-P bowler on Monday, tossing a 144-113-257 series. Kammers was close behind with a 143-102-245 series.

Rounding out the R-P regular game scores were Brook Buchan (147-103-250), Makenze Carr (107-102-209) and Hayley Johnson (94-113-207).

“Our bowlers were a little bit better than the other girls,” said R-P Coach Dan Kammers about Monday's match. “They bowled good. They had some minor flaws, and we still need to work on things, but it’s still early in the season. I’m proud of them, proud to be their coach.”
