Two Reeths-Puffer wrestlers won championships in their weight classes on Saturday at the Adam Provencal Invitational tournament at Grand Haven High School.

Ian Cook posted a 4-0 record on the day and won the title in the 120-pound class.

Cook pinned Thornapple Kellogg’s Austin Pitsch in 1:22, Edwardsburg’s Taurin Zimpleman at 59 seconds and Whitehall’s Nolan Toranko in 3:32, before winning a 9-2 decision over Gull Lake’s Rasler Warner in the championship round.

Cook is now 23-1 on the season.

R-P's Jake Rozycki also went 4-0 and won the title in the 113-pound division.

Rozycki beat Grand Haven’s Brad Howard 16-1 by technical fall, pinned Mona Shores’ Alden Suida-Cortez in 1:57, defeated Thornapple Kellogg’s Dylan Pauline 15-7, and beat St. Joseph’s Jayce Hopkins 7-0 in the title round.

Rozycki is now a perfect 24-0 on the season.

Kaden Malotke went 3-1 for the Rockets and took second at 138 pounds, Nathan Stafford finished fifth at 285 pounds, Sage Secrest finished sixth at 165 pounds, Nathan Reeves took seventh at 150 pounds, Caden Huddleston took seventh at 157 pounds and Matt McConnell took eighth at 215 pounds.

The Rockets finished in sixth place in the team standings in the 16-school field with 130.5 points, despite being without several key wrestlers. Thornapple Kellogg took first place with 168 points.

“It was really good for our guys to see some high-level competition from across the state,” said R-P Coach Jared Fleming. “There were lots of good matchups with high-ranking opponents. There is a different feel to these (individual) tournaments, and I am really proud of how we performed.”
