Paige Anderson

Reeths-Puffer junior golfer Paige Anderson had a very good weekend at the Division 2 state finals, shooting a two-day score of 171 and finishing in 13th place against some of the best prep competition in Michigan.

Playing in cold, wet and windy conditions at Michigan State University, Anderson shot an 85 on Friday, with a birdie on the #1 handicap hole, and an 86 on Saturday, with a birdie on the par 3 ninth hole.

Anderson's finish was a big step up from last season, when she finished 21st in the state finals.

Anderson has been nominated for All-State consideration and should know within a few weeks whether she was chosen.

“Paige is a competitor and battled a tough course under tough conditions,” said Reeths-Puffer golf coach Matt Pallett. “She is a little disappointed in her results but should not be. She showed a lot of grit and handled herself with great pride.

“Paige had a great season and I know she will continue to work hard heading into her senior season next year.”
