R-P golf team

It seems like the Reeths-Puffer girls golf team keeps getting a little bit better every outing.

The Rockets placed third on Thursday at the final O-K Green conference jamboree of the season, held at Muskegon Country Club.

They finished with a team score of 223, which was good for third place, and they only missed second place by two strokes, which was easily their best conference showing of the season.

Mona Shores finished first with 196 while Zeeland West was second with 221.

R-P's Abby Haak, who had her best round of the season on Thursday.

The Rockets performed well despite shooting on the very difficult country club course, in very windy conditions.

Paige Anderson led the ream with a 47 score and finished fourth in the individual standings. Rowan Bluhm shot a 52 and finished eighth overall.

R-P’s Abby Haak, who has been steadily improving all season, had her best round of the season with a 57. Ella Klimsza, Avery Luna and Ava Freed also competed for the Rockets.

“I am so happy for Abby Haak,” said R-P Coach Matt Pallett. “She works hard. She is one who will stay after practice to work more. For her to have her best round of the year on a difficult night and on a difficult course just puts a huge smile on my face.”
