The men's RP XC team ran strong today at the fast Allendale High School Invitational. Leading the Rockets was Klay Grant. Klay won the Scarlet Division which was the large schools. He ran the 5k course with a 15:48 which was his fastest race this season and keeps him as the 4th fastest XC athlete in RP history. Jaxon Allen finished 9th out of the 167 runners running a PR of 16:44. Jaxon is now the 15th fastest RP XC runner in RP history and 5th fastest sophomore. Tate Bradley ran an amazing race and a PR of 17:23 after nursing an injury this past week. That makes Tate the 8th fastest sophomore in RP XC history and just short of the Top 30 all-time list. Kye Grant ran a 17:55 as our 4th man and Jamie Neel, 5th man, improved his best time by 26 seconds and ran a 18:57. Blaze Van Noord had a 33 second PR and ran a 19:51. Our 7th varsity runner today was Gage Bouwman running a 22:09.
It was a great day of racing. These guys continue to run intelligently and are ready to get back to work the next few weeks before the championship season begins. Come watch us on October 16th as we race for the GMAA City Championship at Oakridge Golf Course.
