The Reeths-Puffer volleyball team stayed above the .500 mark by having a very good day against some northern teams at Saturday’s Elk Rapids Invitational.
The Rockets posted a 3-1 record on the day. They are now 8-6-3 on the season.
R-P scored victories over Charlevoix 25-29, 25-9, Leland 25-12, 25-7 and Bear Lake 25-12, 25-4.
The Rockets played to a two-set split against Mount Pleasant St. Mary’s, 25-20, 22-25, and then lost to St. Mary’s in another match, 26-27, 18-25.
Peyton Radel
Peyton Radel had a big day for R-P with 34 kills. Lexie Danz had 28 kills and served nine aces. Kate Tindall piled up 92 assists and had eight aces and Leah Zunina served seven aces.
Defensively, Zuniga had 27 digs, Tindall added 16 and Danz had 13.
“We had a fun weekend up north with a lot of team bonding,” said R-P head coach Syann Fairfield. “We enjoyed playing against some teams we have never seen before, but there are a lot of things we need to unpack to continue to grow and improve.”
The Rockets will return to action on Tuesday when they play several teams at Grandville.
