It was not a winning night for the Reeths-Puffer volleyball team, but the Rockets came close.
They hosted Kenowa Hills, Allendale and Hart in a three-team meet at R-P’s Dan Beckeman Arena.
The results were a mixed bag, but the action was exciting.

The highlight of the night was an intense 25-21, 25-23 victory over Kenowa Hills.
R-P had a real dog fight against Hart, winning the first game 25-18, then losing a marathon second game 29-31, and falling in the tight tiebreaker 23-25.
The worst part of the night came against Allendale, when the Rockets went down by scores of 25-16, 25-15.
"Tonight was a fun night," said R-P head coach Syann Fairfield. "We saw some things we need to add on to and improve on, but we are succeeding with getting one percent better every day.

"We had lots of different players step up and impact our games in a positive way. I'm proud of all the girls."
Mackenzie Danz led the Rockets with 23 kills, 23 digs and two aces while Addison Whitaker added 22 kills, 20 digs and three aces.
Kate Tindall finished with 80 assists and 23 digs on the night.
The Rockets, now 5-4-2 on the season, will return to action on Thursday when they open up O-K Green conference play at Caledonia.
