The Reeths-Puffer girls volleyball team posted a 2-1-2 record in its first competition of the season on Friday at the Coopersville Invitational.
The Rockets won matches against East Kentwood 25-20, 25-12 and Lakewood 25-23, 25-22.
Reeths-Puffer also played to a couple of ties against both Fruitport 22-25, 25-22 and Hart 25-19, 18-25.
The Rockets' lone loss of the day came against NorthPoint Christian, 23-25, 21-25.
Lexie Danz
Lexie Danz had 37 kills to lead the Reeths-Puffer offense, while Peyton Radel added 22 and Mackenzie Danz had 18. Makayla Jewett contributed 15.
Radel and Lexie Danz each served three aces while Kate Tindall set up the offense with 89 assists and Leah Zuniga had five.
Reeths-Puffer was paced on defense by Mackenzie Danz with 46 digs. Zuniga had 44, Tindall added 32 and Lexie Danz contributed 19.
Jewett had five blocks for the Rockets while Radel had two.
“It was a great day of volleyball,” said first-year head coach Syann Fairfield. “Always love getting the chance to get as much in one day as you can. I am super proud of our serve-receive and the versatility of our team. Can’t wait to get back to the gym on Monday.”
