Reeths-Puffer senior Mason Darke wrapped up his great high school track and field career by earning All-State honors in two events at Saturday’s Division 1 state finals at Rockford High School.

Darke finished in third place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.52 seconds. He also finished in sixth place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 38.20.

The top eight in each event won All-State honors.

Darke holds the school record in the 110 and 300 hurdles.

For Darke, it was a step from his great 2025 season, when he finished fifth in the state in the 300 and was an All-Stater in that event.

Darke is the Reeths-Puffer school record holder in both the 110 (14 seconds) and the 300 (38.03 seconds) hurdles. He is a six-time Division 1 state qualifier and will study and run track next year at Indiana State University.

“Mason showed he is one of the elite hurdlers in the state of Michigan - a top 25 all-time performer, as well,” said R-P head coach Don Ketner.

“Great kid, good family, knows how to work and is willing to make the sacrifices to be great. We will miss his work ethic and leadership, but we are excited to watch his continued growth in the sport at ISU and as a young man.”

Several other Rockets also had strong performances in the state finals.

Evan McHugh finished 11th in the pole vault by clearing 14 feet. Marvin Moore was 14th in the 400-meter dash with a 49.75 mark.

Jamichael Williams cleared 5 feet, 11 inches in the high jump, Makalyla Disselkoen cleared 4 feet, 11 inches in the girls high jump, and the boys 4x200 relay team of London Rankin, Emcee McLaurin, Moore and Ethan Rolewicz finished with a time of 1:29.65.

“Overall a great day for the Rockets,” Ketner said. “Evan McHugh tied his personal record in the pole vault competition. Marvin, London and Emcee capped their high school careers with another state finals appearance. Sophomores Ethan and Jamichael performed well in their respective events and will lead us into the 2027 season, along with Evan.”
