The Reeths-Puffer baseball team reached the double-digit victory plateau, and secured its spot in Saturday’s district tournament, by pounding Muskegon 18-0 on Tuesday in a Division 2 district qualifier game.
The Rockets exploded for eight runs in the first inning, seven in the second and three in the third to end the game by mercy rule.
R-P had 11 hits, seven walks and five stolen bases in those three innings. Brendan Guikema led the way with three hits and three RBIs while Jaxon Lee and Ethan Frang each had two hits.

Guikema, Jack Yonkman and Tyler Sykes each pitched one scoreless inning for the Rockets while striking out the side.
R-P, now 10-15-1 on the season, will play one more regular season game at home on Wednesday against Montague.
On Saturday the Rockets will host a Division 1 district tournament, the first step of the MHSAA state tournament.
They will play Greenville at noon, and a victory would put them in the finals against the winner of Mona Shores and Rockford at 2 p.m.
