Junior Tessa Ross had another big day at the plate on Saturday, ripping six hits in seven at-bats to lead the Reeths-Puffer softball teams to exciting wins over Spring Lake and East Kentwood in non-conference action.
The Rockets are now 23-7 on the season.
R-P won its opening game 3-2. Spring Lake took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, then Ross tied the game with an RBI double in the bottom of the first.

Overall the Rockets had 16 hits. Ross and Carlie Guikema each went 3-for-4 at the plate.
Pitcher Lamey McDaniel was brilliant in the win, striking out 13 East Kentwood batters.
“Both Makayla and Lainey threw complete games and did a phenomenal job in the circle,” said R-P head coach Sarah Bayle. “Offensively, we’ve made huge improvements at the plate over the last couple of weeks by going in with a plan, attacking our pitch early in the count, and adjusting our approach when needed later in at-bats.
“We also did a great job executing small ball while continuing to drive the ball hard for extra-base hits.”
