The Reeths-Puffer baseball team got the chance to flex its offensive muscle in an easy 18-2 victory over Muskegon on Wednesday in O-K Green conference action.

The Rockets pounded out 10 hits as a team, walked seven times and stole five bases.

Connor McManus led R-P with two hits while knocking in three runs. Ethan Frang, Jack Yonkman and Brendan Guikema each collected two hits.

Landon Padilla was the winning pitcher, allowing only one hit with four walks and seven strikeouts in three innings.

The rest of the week did not go so well for the Rockets, who were swept in a three-game conference series against Byron Center.

Connor McManus

On Tuesday R-P dropped both ends of a doubleheader to BC.

The Rockets lost the first game 13-0. Guikema and McManus had the only hits for R-P.

Reeths-Puffer lost the second game 15-0 and did not manage a hit.

The Rockets lost the series finale on Thursday, 12-2.

Paul Smith led the offense with two hits while McManus, Frang and Jack Yonkman each had one. Yonkman also stole two bases.

The Rockets are now 6-10 overall on the season and 4-8 in conference play.
