The Reeths-Puffer girls track team had a very good outing on Friday, finishing third out of 13 teams at the annual Greater Muskegon Athletic Association meet, commonly known as the city meet.
Mona Shores won the team championship with 122 points, followed by Fruitport (116) and the Rockets (58). Rounding out the top five were Montague (38) and Holton (34).
The Rockets had one event champion, senior Jersi Bilek, who won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:23.09.
R-P’s Addison Mitchelson finished second in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. She was also a member of R-P’s second-place 4x100 meter relay team that also included Jailynn Zuniga, Ivanna Kass and Wyn Waggoner.

Zaire Wright finished second in the shot put competition.
R-P’s 4x400-meter relay team of Michelson, Bilek, Waggoner and Kass finished in third place.
All event champions and runners-up in the individual events won medals. The top three teams in the relay events also won medals.
The top six in every event scored points for their team.
R-P’s Makayla Disselkoen took fourth place in the high jump, while the 4x200 relay team of Janiya Jerdine, Alyssa Hillin, Darcy Keefe and Kass also finished fourth.
Disselkoen finished fifth in the long jump.
“Overall, a very fun day,” said R-P head coach Parker Aerts. “Our teams were very supportive of one another and the student-athletes showed up! Addison Mitchelson had a big day. We asked a lot from her and she delivered. Makayla Disselkoen also had a big day in the high jump, officially breaking five feet! Congratulations to Jersi Bilek on her 800-meter title!”
