Brendan Guikema had quite a game for the Reeths-Puffer baseball team on Saturday, leading the Rockets to a 6-3 victory over Ravenna in the opening round of the Greater Muskegon Athletic Association Tournament.
Guikema was dominant on the mound, pitching a complete game with 10 strikeouts while scattering four hits and walking only one.
He was equally impressive with his bat, going 2-for-4 and knocking in three runs.
The Rockets trailed the Bulldogs 3-2 after one inning, but scored two runs in both the fourth and fifth to pull ahead, and Guikema held Ravenna scoreless over the final five innings.

Bentley Kops, Jack Yonkman and Paul Smith each collected two hits for the Rockets, who totaled 12 in the game.
R-P was eliminated from the tournament with a 13-3 loss to Fruitport in the semifinal round.
The Trojans led 6-0 after two innings. R-P scored three runs in the top of the fourth to cut its deficit in half, then Fruitport added one run in the bottom of the fourth and six more in the fifth to end the game.
Guikema, Ethan Frang and Jaxon Lee each had one hit for R-P while Kops, Guikema and Lee each drove in one run.
Reeths-Puffer is now 5-7 on the season.
