What a way to bounce back.
On Tuesday, freshman pitcher Makayla Jewett struggled a bit as the Reeths-Puffer softball team lost a game to Mona Shores.
She put that behind her quickly.
On Thursday Jewett pitched two full games and piled up a pretty incredible 24 strikeouts as the Rockets went on the road and /swept a doubleheader from Ludington.
R-P won the opener 13-3. Tessa Ross paced the offense with four singles while Kenzie Jacobs had three. Kennedy Masse, Lainey McDaniel and Caydence Rettinhouse all had two hits.

Jewett had 16 strikeouts in the game while allowing five hits and only one earned run.
The Rockets completed the day with a 7-0 victory in Game 2.
McDaniel hit an inside-the-park homer while Masse and Olivia Ambler each had two hits.
Jewett pitched the entire game again, striking out eight while allowing one one hit and one walk.
“She battled the cold, a tight strike zone, and still came out with 24 total strikeouts tonight,” R-P head coach Sarah Bayle said about Jewett. “She showed a ton of grit and determination.”
The Rockets, now 16-3 on the season, will try to win their third straight championship at Saturday’s Greater M0uskegon Athletic Association Tournament.
