Rolewicz took first place in the 110-meter hurdles and second place in the 200-meter dash.

His winning time in the 110 hurdles was 17.26 seconds.

Overall it was a so-so day for the R-P boys track team, which beat Muskegon 81-54 but lost to Jenison 98-39.

Several other Rockets finished in second place in their events against the strong competition. They were Emcee McLaurin in the 100-meter dash, Dylan Shook in the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, Jamichael Williams in the high jump and Jonathon Visscher in the long jump.

London Rankin finished third in the 100-meter dash.

R-P’s 200-meter relay team of Rankin, McHugh, Rolewicz and McLaurin finished second while the 400-meter relay team of Kyron Novak, Visscher, Zack Rought and Ben Clark finished third.

We had a tough day fighting the wind on the track, but many kids performed well,” said R-P head coach Don Ketner. "Evan McHugh had a great day in pole vault and 300-meter hurdles. Ethan Rolewicz had a good performance in 200 and 110 hurdles. Emcee McLaurin looked good in a stiff headwind in the 100 meters. Garrett Olejarczyk scored valuable points in shot put and discus.

"Many kids were a little disappointed in the times and performances, but it is a tough battle against 30 mile per hour swirling winds.”
