The Reeths-Puffer baseball team dropped both ends of an O-K Green conference doubleheader to rival Mona Shores on Tuesday, falling 12-1 and 6-3.

In Game 1, the lone Reeths-Puffer run came in the first inning when Jack Yonkman was hit by a pitch and later scored on a wild pitch.

The Rockets were held hitless in the game. R-P pitcher Paul Smith allowed five earned runs on four hits over 3 2/3 innings while striking out four.

In Game 2, the Rockets fell behind 3-0 before scoring a run in the fourth inning.

Mona Shores added two runs in the fifth inning and one in the sixth before the Rockets scratched across two more in the sixth.

Brayden Meuwenberg led the offensive effort for Reeths-Puffer, going 2-for-2, while Yonkman and Tyler Sykes each had an RBI.

Brendan Guikema started on the mound for Reeths-Puffer and allowed one run on three hits while striking out three in two innings of work.

Sykes came on in relief and struck out four batters while Yonkman finished the game and struck out two.

The Rockets are now 4-5 overall and 3-4 in conference play. They will wrap up the three-game series with a rematch at Mona Shores on Thursday.
