“Things started out extremely slow for our defense,” R-P head coach Josh Robidoux said about the first quarter. “We struggled to get the ball downfield to our offense. No matter what position you play, it’s frustrating battling back from such a deficit early.”

Holland Christian added a goal with 14 seconds left in the first and led 6-1 headed into the second quarter.

The Rockets had a strong second quarter, getting a goal from Beck with 8:05 left on the clock to cut the deficit to 6-2.

After a Holland Christian goal, Beck scored again, with an assist from Braeden Monette to make the score 7-3 at halftime.ttt

In the third quarter, Holland Christian opened up play with two goals before Monette took his turn scoring with 1:57 left to cut the deficit to 9-4.

Holland Christian scored the final goal of the night with 1:01 left in the third quarter, before play ended for the evening.

“Monette and Beck both had great games,” Robidoux said. “Braeden did a great job executing our offense and getting opportunities tonight from his dodges. Cohen’s shooting and dodging were both on point today.”

The Rockets will try to bounce back on Thursday when they host Grand Rapids Christian in a game scheduled for 7 p.m.mm
