A little bit of history repeated itself on Tuesday for the Reeths-Puffer boys golf team.

Last year R-P's Kristian Brown, then a junior, shot a 36 and took first place individually at the first O-K Green conference jamboree of the season.

On Tuesday Brown repeated the feat, again shooting a 36 and again finishing in first place at the first O-K Green jamboree of the 2026 season at The Meadows at Grand Valley State University.

His round was highlighted by a chip-in eagle on the fourth hole and a birdie on the ninth.

Brown finished one shot ahead of Mona Shores' Cruz Beckstrom.

“Kristian Brown played outstanding tonight," said R-P head coach Matt Pallett. "It is fun to see someone enjoying the game of golf as much as he does.”

While Brown had the top spot in the individual standings, R-P did not fare nearly as well as a team, shooting a 181 and tying for fourth place with Byron Center in the five-team field.

Beckitt Johnson

Mona Shores took first place with a score of 153.

R-P sophomore Beckitt Johnson finished second on the team with a 45 round. Junior Jordan Benkert shot a 49 and freshman Ian Vokal shot a 51.

“It was good to see Beckitt Johnson have a good night," Pallett said. "He was great from tee to green. A little better putting and he would have put a really good round together.

“As a team we left a lot of shots out there tonight. I do like the fact that my team really wants to get better, and because of that we will.”
