The Reeths-Puffer baseball team opened its O-K Green conference schedule by snagging two easy victories over Muskegon on Tuesday.

The Rockets won the opener 16-1. They took control by scoring five runs in both the first and second innings.

Brendan Guikema, Jaxon Lee, Hank Mitchelson, Ethan Frang and Paul Smith all delivered at least one hit that produced runs in those key innings.

The Rockets totaled 12 hits and stole eight bases in the game.

Smith was the winning pitcher, allowing only one hit while striking out eight in three innings.

R-P completed the sweep with a 15-0 win in Game 2.

The Rockets took control by scoring 11 runs in the second inning. Jack Yonkman, Tyler Sykes and Landon Baker all had RBI hits in the big inning.

Frang had three hits in the game.

Sykes pitched the win for Reeths-Puffer, surrendered one hit and zero runs over two innings while striking out four and walking none.

R-P will visit Grand Haven for a non-conference game on Wednesday.
