The Reeths-Puffer softball team improved to 7-0 on the season with a dominant doubleheader sweep of Muskegon on Tuesday.

In Game 1, the Rockets scored 10 runs in the first inning and six in the second and won 16-1.

Lainey McDaniel went 3-for-3 at the plate with two singles and one double. She also pitched the win, allowing one hit with no earned runs and six strikeouts.

Taylor Long added two singles for the Rockets, Madison Reichert had a single and a triple, Olivia Ambler smacked a double and Kenzie Jacobs added an inside-the-park homer.

The Rockets totaled 12 hits in the game.

R-P finished off the night with a 17-0 victory, after scoring five runs in the first inning, 10 in the second and two in the third.

Jacobs went 3-for-3 with one single and two triples. McDaniel added a double and an inside-the-park homer. The Rockets totaled nine hits and 12 walks in the game.

Makayla Jewett got the win on the mound, tossing a perfect game with no hits or walks and six strikeouts.

The victories gave R-P a 2-0 record in the O-K Green conference standings.
