Reeths-Puffer senior bowler Liam Copenhaver has finished near the top of a lot of high school tournaments, but had never finished in first place until Friday, when he won the individual title at the Orchard View Invitational at Northway Lanes.
Copenhaver rolled a 410 series and sealed up the top spot with a very strong 223 score in his last regular game.
He was joined by two other Rockets in the tournament top 10. Ryleigh Beebe finished in fifth place with a 350 series while Tanner Bahr took seventh place with a 336 series.
All three won medals for finishing in the top 10. Beebe also received a medal for posting the best single-game score of the day.

As a team, the R-P boys did very well, finishing as tournament runner-up.
The Rockets finished in first place in preliminary competition with a total score of 2,237. That sent them to the four-team playoff round, where they defeated Orchard View 347-274 in the semifinals.
R-P came up short in the championship match, losing to Mona Shores 360-328.
:”It was an up-and-down day for the boys on Friday,” said R-P head coach Craig Alderink. “They had some really great moments and some not-so-great moments.
“Overall, I'm proud they were able to persevere and finish in the first qualifying spot. We just need to figure out how to consistently bowl better baker games so we can bring home another championship trophy.”
